We look around at a world that seems to grow darker and more violent with the passing days. Many of us have personal worries and difficulties. Yet Jesus’ word to us is “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”.
He tells us that these troubles will not last. He has gone to prepare a perfect home for us in heaven. In the meantime He has sent His Spirit to live with us and in us – the Spirit who is our Comforter, Counsellor and Advocate who will never leave us alone “as orphans”.
The Apostle Paul explains it by saying that the troubles of here are a light momentary affliction which prepare us for “an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:17 NASB).
Those trusting Jesus Christ need not worry.
