In truth and righteousness, Jesus proclaimed, “I am the light of the world”.
Having returned to heaven, he pours out his Spirit into all who believe and follow him. To these, as they follow his example in word and deed, he says, “You are the light of the world”.
As declared in the children’s hymn –
“Jesus bids us shine with a pure, clear light,
Like a little candle burning in the night.
In this world of darkness, we must shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine.”
